Pixafy: Hungry Startup of the Month

Addie Stuber

September 11, 2013

TBD

Summer is winding down. With it comes our next Hungry Startup: Pixafy.

Pixafy is a company comprised of top web developers who  specialize in creating custom websites and Internet application packages. They pair the latest tools, content management systems, open source platforms and web standards with strategy, enabling brands to tailor their online presence. So, we sat down to have a conversation with Pixafy about their covert Peanut Butter M&M addiction and why they could go without utensils (if necessary).

What is Pixafy?

Fueled by caffeine and code, Pixafy is a NYC-based technology services company that supports all aspects of the technology life cycle, including web development, HERCULO web hosting, and staffing. Pixafy demystifies web development, helping clients achieve even their most complex business and technology goals. You think it, we build it.

If Pixafy was a breakfast cereal, what would it be and why?

Kix: “Pixafy-Tested | Client-Approved.”

What is the latest widespread craving or snacking trend to hit your office?

Cocoa-dusted almonds have become a very real addiction. Also, peanut butter M&Ms have caused some serious underground alliances to be formed. Rumor has it that there are secret stashes hidden around the office!

Why did Pixafy decide to provide meals for its employees? How has it shaped your company culture?

We were inspired by your slogan, “A team that eats together, stays together.” Mealtime has helped cultivate an environment where everyone can relax together and trade stories over tasty grub. An alternative hypothesis is that we are testing out the “Startup 15” weight gain diet to see whether it applies to our organization or not.

Would your team rather… have to live for one year without food utensils OR put Dijon mustard on everything you ate?

A year without food utensils. Good thing hands can be fashioned into makeshift utensils! Plus, it’ll be like Medieval Times, ALL the time.
