Warby Parker: Hungry Startup of the Month

Ben Lauzier

August 23, 2012

TBD

In June, MindSnacks explained to us how its office is fueled by delicious food from Cater2.me and a few Liquid Geniuses (their signature drink, made of blueberry vodka, simple syrup, coconut water, lime juice, and a splash of ginseng, served with a brain-cube).

We’re now feeding hungry companies in the city that never sleeps and we’re particularly excited to be working with the hungry startup revolutionizing the eye-wear industry: Warby Parker.

What is Warby Parker?

Warby Parker is a transformative fashion brand with a lofty objective: to offer designer eyewear at a revolutionary price while leading the way for socially-conscious businesses!

What is fueling your office?

Hard work, goodwill, and gallons and gallons of the incredible Stumptown coffee we keep on constant brew. Also, the occasional game of mini-basketball, and our weekly Thursday Happy Hour.

If Warby Parker was a dish it would be…

Jambalaya. A giant pot of jambalaya with tons of spicy tidbits.

Why is food important at Warby Parker, and what are meal times generally like?

Mealtimes are a way to relax, break bread (or naan! or tortillas!) with fellow employees, make each other laugh, and absorb nutrients to keep us in peak performance throughout the day.

Any secret cocktail, favorite snack, or preferred dish?

Greek yogurt is definitely having a moment at Warby Parker. Various combinations of peanut butter and banana are always a staple. A recent office-wide trend has ignited around the concept of strawberry jam and cream cheese on a rice cake.
